As Yapı Kredi, we strive to be listed in national and international ESG indices and ratings and to improve our performance continuously to build a sustainable future.
We have been listed in the BIST Corporate Governance Index since 2008. And we have been listed in the BIST Sustainability Index since its launch in 2014. In addition, we were selected for the FSTSE4Good Emerging Markets Index of the London Stock Exchange in 2017, and since then, we have continued to carry our activities in the field of responsible banking to international platforms.
In 2021, 2022, and 2023, we received a rating above global, sectoral, and country averages with our reporting within the scope of the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index, and were entitled to be included in the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index. We have been reporting to the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Climate Change Program since 2016 and to the CDP Water Security Program since 2018. With our reporting in 2023, we became the first and only financial institution from Türkiye to receive the highest score of A (Leadership) in both the Climate Change Program and Water Security Program. Additionally, we raised our MSCI ESG Rating by three levels in 2022 and were shown in the AA (Leader) class.
On the other hand, we are one of the supporters of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures. In addition, in 2021, 2022, and 2023, we were listed among the top-performing companies in the international banking sector three times in a row in the S&P Sustainability Yearbook, with our reporting within the scope of S&P Global's Corporate Sustainability Assessment.
In the 2023 ESG Risk Rating report of the international sustainability rating company Sustainalytics, we were evaluated as having "Strong" ESG risk management and were included in Sustainalytics' 2024 Best ESG Companies List as one of the best-performing companies. We ranked above the global industry average in each of the environmental, social and governance headings in Moody's ESG rating with our 2022 report.
In 2023, we became the only financial institution from Türkiye to sign the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation. In the same year, we joined the Net Zero Banking Alliance, thus assuming a significant role in the fight against the climate crisis in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement.
