On 16 September 2009, Yapı Kredi successfully signed a 1 year Dual Tranche Multi-Currency Club Term-Loan Facility amounting to US$985 million in Istanbul. The club loan facility, raised by a syndicate of Yapı Kredi’s key relationship banks, is comprised of a US Dollar tranche of US$397,5 million and a Euro tranche of €399,5 million. The all-in cost is LIBOR plus 2.25% per annum. The club loan facility is a replacement of USD 1 billion of syndication loan maturing in September 2009. The proceeds of the loan will be used by the Bank to pre-finance customer exports and export contracts.
With this new club loan facility, Yapı Kredi has achieved a noteworthy oversubscription at favorable pricing. Having targeted an initial amount of US$800 million, Yapı Kredi was successful in attracting commitments totaling to the equivalent of US$ 985 million with the participation of 44 banks from 21 countries. Particularly in light of current global conditions, the success of the transaction is a testament to Yapı Kredi’s continued strong performance and solid banking relationships as well as the Bank’s leading role in the Turkish banking sector towards a more positive environment.
UniCredit Bank Austria A.G. acted as Coordinating Bank and Documentation Agent and Commerzbank International S.A. acted as Facility Agent for the Facility.
