Yapı Kredi has taken an important step with the aim of pioneering the green transformation of the real sector. Our Bank publicly announced its sectoral transformation strategies and concrete targets for reducing emissions from its loan portfolio. Yapı Kredi thus became the bank in the Turkish banking sector to announce the most comprehensive reduction target for its loan portfolio emissions.
The emission reduction targets developed by Yapı Kredi within the framework of the Carbon Transformation Program were approved by the internationally respected Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). The Bank also set specific targets for priority sectors in line with the principles of the Net Zero Banking Association (NZBA). In this context, a Credit Transformation Plan was created, which includes decarbonization actions specific to each sector.
